Winter 2006
Dear HorizonQuest,
Wow, what a week! It is hard to put into words our appreciation.
Our band of brothers has been together a year and a half and this was an incredible deepening of our relationship.
Certainly we had fun in the great surroundings of the beautiful western ranch and facilities. Our winter activities of horseback riding, skeet shooting, hiking and snowshoeing were so much fun. The gourmet food served by two chefs who had an incredible testimony didn't hurt. The spirit of service by all the staff was remarkable. All truly feel called in serving at the ranch and we got it.
The week of course was packed with a lot of time with our small group sharing more deeply than ever with Randy facilitating and guiding. Frequent quiet time that we so often don't take the time to do, deepened the experience and allowed prayerful closeness to the Lord.
For our group, a touching personal letter to our spouses was a highlight we shared. I can speak for myself, the letter was so well received by my wife and I find myself growing in giving more of myself and sharing more of my heart. Our group shared the letters which were so well received by spouses.
All of you at HorizonQuest so clearly showed your devotion and passion for the calling the Lord has given each of you. It showed with the enthusiasm each of you had at every moment.
Our extended dinner conversation that lasted over three hours after dinner and that included so much spontaneous sharing by all was one of the highlights. Another favorite time for me was the communion at the end of the week after such closeness all week long.
The effectiveness of the week I believe is greatly set up by "unplugging" from our usual world. Yet we all ended the week feeling so much closer to family.
So we completed the week with a much stronger band of brothers, supporting each other and uplifting each other more than ever.
I feel so much better about sharing who I am and that the Lord lives in my heart. I feel more passionate about what I am doing and about eliminating those activities that take time (business) that are not the passion the Lord has created for me.
Thank you Pat, for your vision and incredible risk taking and for following your passion for what God has called you to do. Thank you Randy, for your gifted leadership and showing your heart in so many touching ways. Thanks Steve, for sharing so openly and for being so devoted to the Lord. Thanks Tom, for your ministry of great food and for coming here. Thanks Mike, for sharing your incredible testimony of how God brought you here and your great food. Thanks Scott, Blaine and Casey for your enthusiastic service at every moment.
Finally, Thank you Jesus, for being my Lord and Savior and for giving me this incredible journey and brothers in Christ.
Sincerely,

Winter 2006
Randy,
How can I begin to tell you the significance this will have on our lives, my life?
How can a man repay someone that has repaired another man's broken heart, lost soul, love, dignity?
This week, with your help and guidance, with the team's support here at HorizonQuest, with God's love and my band of brothers embracing; I'll go home another person, the man that I always wanted to be, the husband I so much strive for and the father to my boys they would like me to be.
God has provided with an incredible gift, Randy, and it has been an honor and a privilege that you have been a part of me, to know my deepest wounds and struggles and to know "me."
Thank you,
